Rajasthan Government Takes Strict Action Against Drug Vendors, Revokes License

Jaipur, August 25: The Rajasthan government has initiated stringent measures against drug vendors following serious irregularities in the sale and record-keeping of medications. One drug license has been revoked immediately, while four others have been suspended for a period ranging from 14 to 30 days.

This action was taken under the directives of Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore, with guidance from Drug Commissioner T. Shubhamangala and Drug Controller Ajay Phatak. Drug Control Officer (Jaipur) Madan Mohan Singhal conducted inspections of various drug establishments in collaboration with a team from the Sanganeer Sadar police station.

Officials examined the sales records of medications, Schedule H and H-1 drug registers, sales bills, stock registers, pharmacist attendance, and other legal documents. After the inspections, show-cause notices were issued to the respective license holders. Following an evaluation of their responses and confirmation of regulatory violations, the department acted in accordance with applicable laws.

The drug license of Shri Shyam Medicos, located in Govindpura, Sanganeer, was revoked due to serious irregularities, deficiencies in record-keeping, and failure to present necessary sales bills and other records.

Additionally, the licenses of four other drug vendors have been suspended, including Medical and General Store, Devesh Medical Agency, Shubham Medical and General Store, and Balaji Medical.

Officials stated that strict actions will continue against establishments violating rules related to the sale of Schedule H, H-1, and other controlled category drugs. Compliance will particularly be monitored regarding accurate sales bills, proper record-keeping, maintenance of designated registers, presence of registered pharmacists, and other essential documentation.

The department emphasized that the purpose of such inspections is to ensure the public has access to safe and high-quality medications while preventing the illegal or improper sale of regulated drugs.
