Jaipur, July 21: Law Minister Jogaram Patel announced that the municipal and panchayat elections in Rajasthan will be conducted in accordance with the directives of the High Court and the established procedures of the State Election Commission. The government will thoroughly study the court’s orders and ensure full compliance.
Patel stated that the Rajasthan High Court has instructed the state government, the Panchayati Raj Department, the State Election Commission, and the OBC Commission to conduct elections within a specified timeframe. As soon as the government receives a copy of the court’s order, it will be reviewed, and necessary actions will be taken to adhere to the court’s directives. He emphasized that the government believes in the rule of law, and court orders are paramount.
Responding to protests in Delhi, Patel criticized the opposition for using demonstrations to mask their political failures. He remarked that Parliament is the highest democratic platform for voicing public concerns, and MPs should raise issues there. While opposition MPs represent millions of voters, creating chaos on the streets instead of addressing matters in Parliament is not in line with democratic traditions.
He noted that such political tactics have led to a decline in the opposition’s public support, while the BJP and its allies continue to gain representation in the Lok Sabha and various state assemblies. Patel claimed that if the opposition persists with this approach, its political relevance will diminish further.
When asked if students are being mobilized for protests similar to the farmers’ movement, and if foreign forces might be involved, Patel expressed his belief that foreign elements are indeed active. He alleged that some Congress leaders travel abroad before Parliament sessions and return with strategies to disrupt proceedings and campaign against the government. Such leaders often make statements that do not align with national interests, reflecting foreign influences.
The Law Minister asserted that the BJP is a party with strong leadership and that the central government will not support any activities or statements that go against the country’s interests. The government is committed to respecting democratic institutions and ensuring smooth parliamentary proceedings, urging the opposition to fulfill its responsibilities.
