Jaipur, August 15: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced and inaugurated nearly ₹807 crore worth of 90 development projects in Bikaner district on Saturday. These projects focus on health, education, roads, electricity, agriculture, and administrative infrastructure.
Addressing the event in Meghasar, the Chief Minister stated that these initiatives would accelerate development across Bikaner and improve access to essential public services. A significant announcement included the establishment of a new mini-secretariat in Lunkaranasar, aimed at consolidating administrative services under one roof.
The state government also revealed plans to construct a sub-district hospital and a modern trauma center in Shri Dungargarh at a cost of ₹25 crore. To alleviate traffic congestion in Bikaner city, the Chief Minister announced a new overbridge at the Museum Circle.
Additional announcements included a new Ayurvedic dispensary in Bikaner West and enhancements to the Euro Sciences building at SP Medical College.
In the education and health sectors, the Meghasar sub-health center will be upgraded to a primary health center, while a government primary school in Khajuwala will be elevated to a higher primary school. New government primary schools were also announced in Chack 610-200 RD, in front of the Dudi petrol pump, and in Jeevan Singh Ki Dhani.
During the event, CM Bhajanlal Sharma formally inaugurated 74 completed development projects worth ₹664 crore. These projects include 47 solar power plants under the PM-KUSUM components A and C, totaling over ₹371 crore. Road infrastructure projects worth ₹105 crore include the widening and renovation of MDR Palna-Khajuwala, Bhursar-Ballar, and Pugal-Makeri roads.
Other inaugurated projects include a ₹24 crore 132 kV grid sub-station in Hadaan, a ₹15 crore development project at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Bikaner, a ₹5 crore Marudhara Botanical Garden in Bichwal, and a new community health center building in Mukam costing ₹5 crore. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for 16 new projects with an estimated cost of ₹143 crore.
Key projects include a ₹98 crore 220 kV grid sub-station and transmission line in Sheruna, along with a new office building for the Bikaner Development Authority (BDA) costing over ₹36 crore.
Sub-health center buildings will also be constructed in Gajsukhdesar, Bagsu, Lilka, Ratadiya, Bidasaria, Jakhisar Naya, Raner, and Mithadia at a total cost of approximately ₹4.5 crore.
During the program, CM Sharma unveiled a statue of Veer Shiromani Megho Ji, believed to be the founder of Meghasar, made of Ashtadhatu and mounted on a horse. He stated that this statue would inspire future generations to uphold values of sacrifice, bravery, courage, and service to the nation.
The event was attended by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Rajasthan’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, legislators, and other public representatives.
Discussing the state government’s welfare measures, CM Sharma announced an increase in the annual PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000. He also mentioned that over ₹61,000 crore has been provided to farmers as electricity bill subsidies. Regarding employment and recruitment, he stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to tackle the paper leak issue has helped strengthen the examination system.
He noted that over 178,000 positions have been filled, with recruitment processes ongoing for more than 132,000 additional posts.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the announced and initiated projects in Bikaner would contribute to the long-term development of the district and enhance infrastructure and essential services for residents.
