Jaipur, 18 August (Kiran News): On Monday, rainfall was recorded in a dozen cities across the state. The highest rainfall was measured in Nainwa, Bundi, where two and a half inches were recorded. According to forecasts, moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder is likely in southern Rajasthan’s Udaipur and parts of Jodhpur division over the next three days. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder is also expected in the remaining divisions of Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner.

Due to lack of rainfall in some areas, temperatures crossed 40 degrees in Jaisalmer and Bikaner. Bikaner recorded the highest daytime temperature at 40.1°C. In Jaipur, scattered clouds covered the sky throughout the day, with sunshine occasionally breaking through, giving people a sense of intense heat.
The Meteorological Department reported rainfall in Ajmer, Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Jaisalmer, Kota, Barmer, Hanumangarh, and other places. In the last week of August, a monsoon system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal, which may activate the monsoon and increase rainfall activity in most parts of the state. On Sunday, the highest rainfall was recorded in Chikli (Dungarpur) at 51 millimetres.
