Light Snowfall and Rain Likely in Northern and Central Kashmir

According to the IMD Srinagar, cloudy skies and light precipitation are expected to dominate weather conditions over the next few days. On April 8, moderate cloud cover will persist throughout the day with chances of snowfall in higher altitudes of north and central Kashmir during the evening and night.

For April 9 and 10, widespread overcast conditions are predicted, along with the possibility of scattered rain showers and gusty winds. These changes are typical during this transitional spring period in the Himalayan region.

Drier Weather Ahead, But More Snow on the Horizon

The IMD forecast states that April 11 could bring light rain and snow during the early morning hours, but the weather is expected to stabilize later in the day. From April 12 to April 17, a dry spell is likely to dominate, offering temporary respite to the region.

However, the weather is expected to change again between April 18 and April 20, with another round of rainfall and snowfall likely, especially in the higher elevations.

Public and Farmer Advisory Issued

In light of the predicted weather changes, travelers, tourists, and transport operators have been advised to follow local administrative guidelines and traffic advisories. The IMD also recommends that farmers suspend agricultural activities on April 9 and 10 to prevent crop damage due to the anticipated adverse conditions.

The evolving weather patterns in the region highlight the importance of preparedness for both locals and visitors, especially during early spring when Himalayan climates remain volatile.
