Rajasthan Boils as Heatwave Intensifies
The IMD has confirmed that five cities in Rajasthan have breached the 45°C mark, placing them among the hottest places in India. Apart from Churu and Sriganganagar, Chittorgarh, Kota, and Vanasthali also crossed the red-hot 45-degree threshold. Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Kota divisions are expected to continue facing heatwave conditions, even as parts of the state may begin to cool down slightly.
Weather Forecast: Dust Storms and Falling Temperatures Ahead
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, temperatures in the state could drop by 2–4 degrees Celsius from April 19 onwards. Isolated dust storms with wind speeds of 30-40 km/h are also expected in Jodhpur and Bikaner regions over the next 48 hours. The state may see broader relief from the heatwave starting April 20.
