Balaghat, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : On October 1, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh. His trip aims to connect with families who have lost children to malaria and other diseases. These families, primarily from tribal communities, have been deeply affected by the ongoing health crisis.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Gandhi expressed his solidarity, stating, “I am coming to Balaghat today to meet the tribal families who have lost their innocent children due to illness and the neglect of the BJP government. I want to spend time with them and assure them that they are not alone in their grief.” He also referenced a recent meeting with tribal communities involved in the Ken-Betwa river linking project, which has led to flooding in their villages without adequate government support.
Gandhi highlighted the plight of tribal students during a prior event in Indore, where he learned about the lack of schools, poor college facilities, and inadequate hostels. He criticized the government’s treatment of tribal communities, stating that their rights to education, employment, and dignity are being undermined.
He reassured the tribal people of his commitment, saying, “I stand with you in every struggle. It is my responsibility to amplify your voice and ensure that this deaf government hears you.” This marks Gandhi’s second visit to Madhya Pradesh in just 15 days, following his participation in the ‘Students’ Voice’ event in Indore on September 19.
