Rahul Gandhi Urges Public to Join Rally Against Election Commission in Delhi
Rahul Gandhi calls on citizens to attend a rally in Delhis Ramleela Maidan, emphasizing the importance of supporting local businesses during protests.

New Delhi, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called on citizens to join a rally against the Election Commission at Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi. In a social media post, he urged people to gather at the venue on November 1.
“Delhi, get ready! Save your vote, save the country. Come to Connaught Place, let’s walk together, or meet directly at Ramleela Maidan, but you must come. See you at noon,” Gandhi wrote on X.
In a previous post, he noted, “Hello everyone, millions will be coming to Delhi for the Ramleela march tomorrow. It’s the festive season with Diwali, Chhath, and Bhai Dooj approaching. I want those coming from outside to support local businesses. Protest, march, and rally, but also do some shopping to help our traders.”
Gandhi assured that the rally would not harm the businesses, stating, “The BJP is spreading rumors because they are scared. However, both can happen. Tomorrow, there will be a march and a rally, and millions will shop from our small traders. Much love to all. Happy Diwali. Jai Hind.”
In anticipation of the opposition’s “Save Your Vote, Save the Country” rally on Sunday, the Delhi Police have implemented extensive security and traffic management measures. DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh provided details on security arrangements, crowd control, and traffic management for buses arriving from various states.
He explained, “Our police preparations are twofold: one for venue arrangements and the other for route management. Officers will be stationed along the march route from Minto Bridge to JLN and Chaman Lal Marg.”
The DCP indicated that the venue can accommodate around 45,000 to 50,000 people. He added, “If more than this number arrives, we will need to ensure that there is no stampede inside. Therefore, we will have to manage additional crowds in areas like Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Asaf Ali Road, and Chaman Lal Marg.”
