
New Delhi, August 10: A significant fire incident was averted in the Neb Sarai area of South Delhi, thanks to the vigilance and swift actions of local police officers. The fire reportedly broke out due to a short circuit in Duggal Colony, Gate Number 2. Upon receiving the alert, the police promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
According to police reports, Head Constables Jitendra and Vishnu rushed to the site without waiting for a PCR call after receiving the information. Their first priority was the safety of the residents, and they quickly evacuated those living near the affected house to safer locations.
Meanwhile, Head Constable Vinod, stationed at Neb Sarai Police Station, also learned about the fire and joined the rescue efforts without delay.
The three officers worked together to secure the affected area, evacuating people from danger zones and actively preventing the fire from spreading. They arranged for the electricity supply to be cut off and assisted in firefighting efforts.
Delhi Police stated that due to the officers’ quick thinking and prompt actions, the fire was largely controlled before the fire brigade arrived, preventing it from spreading to other homes and averting a potential disaster.
DCP Anant Mittal of the South District praised the officers, highlighting that the actions of Head Constables Jitendra, Vishnu, and Vinod exemplify the Delhi Police’s commitment to prioritizing citizen safety in all circumstances. Their timely intervention not only protected lives and property but also demonstrated that the Delhi Police stand ready to support the public in times of need.
