
Dharamshala, May 11: Punjab Kings (PBKS) have set a formidable target of 211 runs for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL 2026 during the 55th match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. PBKS aims to secure a victory to rise to the top of the points table.
Delhi Capitals’ captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to field first. In response, the Kings scored 210 runs, losing 5 wickets in their allotted overs.
Priyansh Arya, along with Prabhsimran Singh, provided a stellar start to the team. The opening pair added 78 runs in just 41 balls. Prabhsimran returned to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs off 15 balls, including 3 fours. The team faced another setback when Priyansh Arya was dismissed after scoring 56 runs off 33 balls, featuring 6 sixes and 2 fours.
At a score of 97, Punjab Kings lost both of their openers. From there, Cooper Connolly partnered with Shreyas Iyer, adding 83 runs for the third wicket in 52 balls, propelling the team to a significant total. Connolly scored 38 runs off 27 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 3 fours before being dismissed.
In the 19th over, Punjab Kings lost Marcus Stoinis (1) on the first ball. Mitchell Starc then dismissed Shashank Singh (0) on the next delivery. Suryaansh Shedge and Shreyas Iyer formed an unbeaten partnership of 23 runs in just 10 balls, taking the team past the 200-run mark.
Iyer remained not out at 59 runs off 36 balls, with 3 sixes and 5 fours, while Suryaansh contributed 21 runs off 8 balls, including 2 sixes and 2 fours. For Delhi Capitals, Mitchell Starc and Madhav Tiwari each took 2 wickets, while Mukesh Kumar claimed 1 wicket.
