Punjab CM Accuses BJP of Using Investigative Agencies for Election Campaigning

Punjabs CM Bhagwant Mann claims BJP is leveraging investigative agencies to influence the upcoming elections.

Chandigarh, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has voiced strong criticism against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid at his camp office. He suggested that this action indicates the BJP’s preparations for timely elections in the state, asserting that the party is conducting its campaign through investigative agencies.

Referencing similar raids that occurred in Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh ahead of elections, Mann emphasized that no evidence of corruption against his government would be found, stating, “No matter how many raids they conduct, they will not uncover a single rupee of corruption against the Aam Aadmi Party.” He reiterated that his political mission is to serve the people of Punjab, rather than exploit the state.

In a statement to the media, Mann remarked, “The CBI’s search at the Chief Minister’s camp office signifies that Punjab Assembly elections will occur on schedule. The BJP has initiated its election preparations in Punjab and has opted to launch its campaign through the CBI.”

Mann accused the BJP of attempting to create a climate of fear and tarnish the image of the elected government through these actions. He insisted that despite the raids, the BJP would find no evidence of corruption in Punjab.

“We are not afraid of these tactics, nor will we be diverted from our commitment to the people of Punjab,” he stated. He emphasized that his focus is on empowering citizens, creating jobs, enhancing public services, and steering Punjab back toward progress.

Mann further noted that the people of Punjab have repeatedly rejected politics based on fear and intimidation. “They (BJP) can conduct raids, send agencies, and exert pressure, but they cannot invade the hearts of Punjabis or silence their voices. The people of Punjab will stand firm with truth and development,” he asserted.
