Pune: Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Pankaja Munde was awarded an honorary PhD degree by Ajinkya DY Patil University, Pune, on Saturday. Following the conferment, she expressed her gratitude to the university.
Speaking at the university’s convocation ceremony, Pankaja Munde said, “Ajinkya DY Patil University has honoured me with an honorary PhD degree. I am deeply thankful to the university, its entire faculty, and the jury for this recognition.”
She added, “Throughout my life, I have studied science and aspired to earn an advanced degree. However, my political and professional commitments kept me from pursuing it earlier. Today, that dream has come true, and I am very happy.”
Pankaja Munde also congratulated the students who received gold, silver, and bronze medals for their outstanding achievements. She encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with positivity, advising them to treat others the way they wish to be treated and to follow their heartfelt desires.
The convocation ceremony was held at the Lohegaon campus of Ajinkya DY Patil University (ADYPU). Alongside Pankaja Munde, renowned cricketer Rohit Sharma was also honoured with an honorary doctorate in recognition of his exceptional contributions to Indian sports and leadership on the global stage.
