Prime Minister Modi Kicks Off Election Campaign in Chennai and Puducherry

New Delhi, April 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to intensify the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) election campaign in South India with a two-day visit to Chennai and Puducherry starting Friday. This trip comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and the union territory.

Upon arriving at Chennai International Airport on Friday afternoon, the Prime Minister will head directly to Puducherry, where he will address a large public rally in the evening. This rally is organized to support candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allied parties ahead of the voting scheduled for April 9.

After the rally, Modi will return to Chennai on Friday night. Security agencies and local police have initiated extensive preparations for this high-profile visit. The Greater Chennai Police have implemented strict security measures and arrangements at key locations.

To ensure smooth movement and public safety during the Prime Minister’s events, multi-layered security, traffic alterations, and various restrictions will be enforced.

On Saturday, Modi will meet with approximately 100 party officials, grassroots workers, and key stakeholders in Chennai. This closed-door meeting will focus on strengthening the organization at the booth level and refining the electoral strategy ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections on April 23.

Following this, the Prime Minister will participate in an election event in Mylapore, a significant political area in Chennai, in support of the NDA candidate.

Party sources indicate that a roadshow is also being planned, with areas like T. Nagar under consideration. However, the final route has yet to be officially confirmed.

This visit is seen as a crucial step in bolstering the BJP’s presence in Tamil Nadu and enhancing its election campaign in Puducherry.
