Bengaluru, May 7: The Karnataka BJP is ramping up preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bengaluru. Following the assembly elections, the party is organizing a large public event to showcase the Prime Minister’s achievements.
Senior BJP leader and opposition leader in the Karnataka assembly, R. Ashok, spoke with reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday, highlighting that Modi’s accomplishments are recognized worldwide. He noted that even the President of the United States has congratulated the Prime Minister.
Ashok expressed pride in the BJP’s recent victory in West Bengal, marking the first time the party has formed a government there. He confirmed that Modi will address the people of Bengaluru, and the event will be open to the public.
“All party workers and citizens are encouraged to attend the event. Meetings have been held to ensure smooth preparations,” Ashok stated. He added that BJP workers from assembly constituencies around Tumkur Road will participate in the event, while workers from the ten assembly seats in Bengaluru Urban will also be present.
“We are ensuring that there are no issues during the event,” he emphasized. Responding to the recent by-election results, Ashok remarked that by-elections should not be seen as a benchmark for assembly elections.
“When the BJP was in power, we won 15 by-elections, but later we could not return to power in the assembly elections. Therefore, by-elections are not a standard for assembly election results,” he explained.
Notably, Prime Minister Modi will visit Karnataka on May 10. This will be his first visit to the state following the significant victories of the NDA in the assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry.
In preparation for the grand welcome event organized by the Karnataka BJP, a meeting was held on Thursday, chaired by R. Ashok. The meeting included several BJP leaders, such as former minister Arvind Limbavali, MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan, former minister Gopalaiya, MLA S.R. Vishwanath, Muniraju, C.K. Ramamurthy, and state general secretary Nandish Reddy.
Prime Minister Modi is set to participate in the 45th anniversary celebration of the Art of Living and the 70th birthday celebration of its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, during his visit to Bengaluru.
According to a statement from the ashram, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address and inaugurate the newly constructed meditation temple. Additionally, the launch of year-long service programs related to mental health, rural development, nature conservation, and social change will take place.
As part of these events, a global meditation program for world peace will be held on May 13, led by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
