
Bhagalpur, March 8: A significant meeting was held at the Review Building in Bhagalpur, chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, to discuss the preparations for Bihar Day 2026. The meeting reviewed last year’s event and outlined the framework for this year’s celebrations.
This year’s Bihar Day will take place on March 22 and 23 at the Sandis Compound. The event will feature cultural programs, a food fair, and exhibition stalls from various departments. These stalls will showcase departmental plans and achievements, allowing the public to connect with government initiatives.
Competitions such as essay writing, debates, painting, and rangoli will be organized in educational institutions. Winning students will be honored at the district level. Additionally, students and individuals from Bhagalpur who have made a name for themselves nationally will also be recognized. Special honors will be given to the district’s freedom fighters.
On the occasion of Bihar Day, school children will be taken on tours of significant historical and archaeological sites in the district to connect them with Bihar’s rich heritage.
The District Magistrate instructed all office heads to complete cleaning and painting tasks in their offices promptly. On March 22 and 23, all government offices will be adorned with blue lights. Members of NCC, Scouts and Guides, NSS, Nehru Yuva Kendra, and other organizations will also be honored during this event.
Present at the meeting were Additional Collector Dinesh Ram, Additional Collector Law and Order Rakesh Ranjan, District Transport Officer Janardan Prasad Singh, Joint Director of Public Relations Nagendra Kumar Gupta, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Prasad, Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Kumar, District Welfare Officer Rajiv Kumar Ravi, and District Minority Welfare Officer Ratan Kumar, among others.
The District Magistrate emphasized that Bihar Day is a vital opportunity to promote the state’s culture, history, and development to the public. He urged everyone to contribute to the success of this event.
