Police Bust Fake Aadhaar and Passport Operation in Muzaffarpur, Bihar

Muzaffarpur, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : A shocking incident has emerged in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where authorities uncovered a scheme involving the creation of fake Aadhaar cards and passports. The operation was traced back to a computer center in the Moti Jheel area, where two individuals were arrested during a police raid on October 2.

Police had received information suggesting that the Kanhai Communication center was involved in the unauthorized alteration and production of documents. Acting on this tip-off, a team led by Municipal SDPO Suresh Kumar conducted the raid, seizing multiple objectionable documents and equipment used for creating Aadhaar cards.

The arrested suspect, Sahil Kumar, hails from the Kesaria area of Motihari and has been working at the computer center since 2019. During the investigation, it was revealed that machines used for Aadhaar registration had been brought from a bank in Patna, where they were manipulated to produce fraudulent documents.

Further inquiries led to the arrest of Shivkumar Pandit from Dariyapur in Chapra, who allegedly collaborated with the computer center to facilitate this illegal operation. Pandit worked as an operator for the UIDAI machine at Union Bank on Boring Canal Road in Patna and reportedly provided the machine to the computer center during holidays, charging fees for Aadhaar creation and name changes.

The police’s investigation confirmed that not only Aadhaar cards but also fake passports were being produced at the center, including one that was issued for a Bangladeshi national. SDPO Suresh Kumar stated that the operation involved significant tampering with government documents, prompting the police to take swift action.

In total, the raid resulted in the seizure of two laptops, an iris scanner, a fingerprint scanner, a thumb clone, eight Aadhaar cards, and various other digital materials. A case has been filed at the Municipal Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing to identify additional suspects involved in this fraudulent network.
