
Greater Noida, May 20: In a significant development in the high-profile dowry death case of Deepika, police in Greater Noida have made a fourth arrest. The victim’s mother-in-law, Poonam, has been taken into custody. Previously, the victim’s husband, Hrithik, father-in-law Manoj, and uncle-in-law Vinod were also arrested.
Thanks to continuous raids and local intelligence, police have successfully tracked down the accused. According to police reports, the EcoTech-III police station arrested the wanted suspect Poonam, a resident of Jalpur, on Wednesday. Poonam is the mother-in-law of the deceased, Deepika. The arrest was made with the assistance of local intelligence and surveillance teams.
On May 17, a case emerged regarding the suspicious death of a married woman in the EcoTech-III area. The victim’s family has leveled serious allegations of dowry harassment and torture against the in-laws. Based on their complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
During the investigation, police first arrested the victim’s father-in-law Manoj and husband Hrithik on May 18. Subsequently, uncle-in-law Vinod was apprehended on May 20. With Poonam’s arrest, a total of four suspects have now been taken into custody in this case.
Police officials have stated that a thorough investigation is underway, with evidence being collected while considering all aspects of the case. They assert that strict legal action will be taken against the guilty. Following this incident, there is a palpable sense of anger in the community, and the victim’s family is demanding severe punishment for the accused.
