Xiaomi is preparing to launch the POCO M8 in India soon, adding another budget-friendly option under its POCO sub-brand. A recent teaser has revealed key specifications and features of the upcoming smartphone.
The POCO M8 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. Additionally, users can expand the memory with up to 8GB of virtual RAM, bringing the total to 16GB. The device has achieved an impressive score of over 825,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark.
The phone will run on HyperOS 2, Xiaomi’s custom skin based on Android 15, out of the box. While it does not come with the latest HyperOS 3 (Android 16) at launch, the company promises four years of operating system updates and six years of security patches. This suggests the POCO M8 will receive the HyperOS 3 update shortly after its release in India.
In terms of display, the POCO M8 features a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals. It is equipped with a large 5,520mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging for quick power boosts.
Photography needs are met with a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP sensor and a 20MP front camera for selfies. The smartphone also offers water and dust resistance with an IP68 or IP65 rating. Its slim design measures 7.35mm in thickness and includes a stylish dual-tone finish.
With these specifications, the POCO M8 aims to deliver strong performance and durability at an affordable price point, appealing to a wide range of users in the Indian market.
