Kolkata, April 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a significant road show in Bagdogra, near Siliguri, after addressing three major rallies in West Bengal on Saturday.
As the Prime Minister’s convoy passed through the streets, thousands of locals lined the roads, chanting “Modi-Modi” and “Jai Shri Ram.” Initially, he was seen sitting in the front seat of his vehicle next to the driver, waving to the crowd. Later, he leaned out of the car window to greet the enthusiastic supporters.
This direct engagement from the Prime Minister further amplified the crowd’s excitement, intensifying their chants. Raju Bista, the BJP’s two-time MP from the Darjeeling constituency, shared a video of the road show on social media platform X, stating that the crowd’s enthusiasm is evidence of PM Modi’s status as one of the world’s most popular leaders.
Bista noted that in India, especially in the hills, Terai, and Duars regions of Darjeeling, Modi is viewed as a guardian figure. He remarked that thousands gathered in Siliguri to welcome the Prime Minister to their beautiful region. Witnessing such love and respect for their beloved PM, who personally interacted with the people, was a remarkable sight.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi addressed three election rallies: the first in Katwa, East Bardhaman district; the second in Jangipur, Murshidabad district; and the third in Kushmandi, South Dinajpur district. The West Bengal assembly elections will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results set to be announced on May 4.
