New Delhi, May 12: Minister Danish Azad Ansari from the Uttar Pradesh government has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens to conserve fuel and avoid unnecessary gold purchases. He stated that PM Modi has consistently worked towards strengthening and empowering the nation. The development of the country’s resources should align with national progress.
In an interview with a news agency, Ansari remarked, “Prime Minister Modi has always aimed to strengthen and empower the nation. Given the current international situation and ongoing events, India must also be prepared. This is the underlying thought behind all of PM Modi’s efforts.”
He emphasized that making India strong and capable is PM Modi’s top priority. The development of the country’s resources should contribute to national growth. With this mindset, he has urged citizens to act accordingly. It has been evident that whenever PM Modi speaks about national interest and appeals for development, the public stands by him. The country is ready to become strong and prosperous.
Responding to comments from opposition parties regarding PM Modi’s appeal, Ansari stated that the opposition lacks a clear agenda. He asserted that every appeal made by PM Modi is in the nation’s interest. Opposing matters related to national interest has become the opposition’s agenda, leading them to oppose India itself while opposing the BJP.
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok commented, “In the current global scenario, the conflicts in West Asia and events in the Hormuz Strait are impacting the entire world, and India is not immune to these effects. Therefore, if the Prime Minister issues advice or warnings to citizens—such as reducing fuel consumption, using petrol and diesel wisely, avoiding unnecessary gold purchases, or limiting foreign travel—there should be no objections.”
Ajay Alok clarified that PM Modi is not suggesting that there is an economic crisis requiring citizens to donate gold. Such appeals have been made by various Prime Ministers over time. If this conflict continues for an extended period, preparing for potential issues today is prudent.
BJP MLA Mihir Chandrakant Kotecha from Mumbai stated, “We all know that the crisis stemming from the Hormuz Strait has disrupted 25 percent of the global oil and gas supply. Just as we successfully faced the COVID crisis by adhering to PM Modi’s calls for action, this appeal has also been made with careful consideration. Its purpose is to enable us to reduce our daily oil consumption, thereby mitigating the impact of this situation on the country.”
