New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended heartfelt wishes for Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrating the festival with a shared shloka. In a post on ‘X’, he expressed, “Wishing all citizens a blessed Ganesh Chaturthi. May the divine presence of Vighnaharta bring new energy and enthusiasm into everyone’s life. With their blessings, may all efforts be successful, and may our nation continue to progress.” He concluded with the traditional chant, “Ganapati Bappa Morya!”
Modi also shared the first verse of the ‘Ganesh Panchratnam’, a hymn composed by Adi Shankaracharya: “Mudakaratta Modakam Sada Vimutti Sadhakam, Kaladhara Vatanaskam Vilasilo Ka Rakshakam…” This hymn, created in the 8th century, praises Lord Ganesha as the remover of obstacles and the giver of wisdom and liberation.
The ‘Panchratnam’ consists of five verses, likened to precious gems, with the first verse traditionally recited during Brahma Muhurta, a time considered auspicious. Through this hymn, devotees pray to Lord Ganesha, who is depicted holding a sweet modak, symbolizing joy, and is revered for granting liberation to his followers. He is also described as the protector of the world and the one who vanquished the demon Gajasura. The prayer seeks the blessings of Lord Vinayak to eliminate all misfortunes and challenges faced by devotees.
