New Delhi, April 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to collectively ensure the success of the 2027 Census. He emphasized that this is the largest census in the world and is not merely a government task but a collective responsibility.
During his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program on Sunday, PM Modi stated, “An important campaign is currently underway in the country, and every Indian must be informed about it. This is the census campaign. Those who have participated in similar processes before will find this census experience to be different. The 2027 Census will be digital, with all information recorded directly in digital format. Enumerators will carry mobile apps to collect data from households.”
Encouraging participation, PM Modi noted, “This time, your involvement in the census is made easier. You can also register your information yourself. A facility will be available 15 days before the enumerator visits your home, allowing you to fill in your details at your convenience.”
He further explained, “Upon completing the process, you will receive a unique ID sent to your mobile or email. When the enumerator arrives, you can present this ID to verify your information, eliminating the need to provide it again.”
The Prime Minister also mentioned that in states where self-enumeration has been completed, the listing of households by enumerators has already begun. So far, approximately 12 million families have completed the housing listing process. He reiterated, “The census is not just a government task; it is our collective responsibility.”
He assured citizens, “The information you provide is completely secure and kept confidential. It is protected with digital security measures. Let us all participate in this process together.”
