PM Modi to Inaugurate International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is all set to host the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront, with preparations completed ahead of the grand event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the festival on Monday. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will attend as the chief guest.

The festival will see participation from 135 international kite flyers representing 50 countries, along with 936 participants from 14 Indian states. The event promises to be a spectacular display of colour and skill as Prime Minister Modi leads the inauguration of this global kite festival.

On Monday morning, both leaders will visit the Sabarmati Ashram before proceeding to the Sabarmati Riverfront around 10 am to take part in the kite festival activities. Following this, at 11:15 am, bilateral meetings will be held at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

India and Germany recently celebrated 25 years of strategic partnership. During the bilateral talks, Prime Minister Modi and Chancellor Scholz will review the progress made so far and focus on deepening cooperation in trade and investment, technology, education, skill development, and mobility. Discussions will also cover collaboration in defence and security, science, innovation and research, green and sustainable development, and people-to-people ties.

In addition to bilateral issues, the two leaders will exchange views on regional and global matters of significance. They will also engage with business and industry leaders from both countries to strengthen economic and industrial relations.

Chancellor Scholz arrived in Gujarat on Monday as part of his first official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi. The Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, warmly welcomed the German Chancellor at Ahmedabad Airport. Chancellor Scholz’s visit aims to reinforce the strong bilateral ties between India and Germany.

The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement confirming the schedule and objectives of the visit, highlighting the focus on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors and celebrating the longstanding partnership between the two nations.
