
Kolkata, May 8: Samik Bhattacharya, the West Bengal BJP state president, announced that preparations for forming a government in the state are complete. He emphasized that the upcoming oath ceremony will be historic.
The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 10 AM, featuring prominent leaders and chief ministers from across the country. Bhattacharya stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the Home Minister and Defense Minister, will be present at the event. He noted that the entire BJP leadership will participate, marking the official assumption of responsibilities by the new government.
“This is not just a political event; it is a festive day for BJP workers,” Bhattacharya remarked. He highlighted that this will be the first time since independence that the BJP is forming a government in West Bengal. Identifying himself as a dedicated party worker, he expressed that this moment signifies a significant achievement after years of struggle.
During the announcement, Bhattacharya also commented on the governor’s decision to dissolve the West Bengal Assembly. He affirmed that this is a constitutional process and that the governor acted in accordance with the constitution. He clarified that the matter is between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the governor, with no involvement from the BJP.
Additionally, Bhattacharya addressed the murder case of Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant of elected BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari. He assured that the police are investigating the matter and that they are monitoring the situation closely. He expressed confidence that whoever is responsible will be apprehended and punished according to the law.
