He was speaking at an election rally in Satara today, where the only Lok Sabha By-Poll in Maharashtra is also being conducted along with State Assembly elections.
In Satara, the Prime Minister spoke on Article 370, Maratha Reservation, beneficial schemes for farmers, steps taken for the betterment of sugarcane producers and various development projects undertaken by the BJP-Shivsena combine in the state during the last term.
Lok Sabha by-elections were necessitated in Satara because of the resignation of seating Member Udayanraje Bhosale. Bhosale left NCP and joined BJP. Now, he is contesting as the BJP candidate. His brother Shivendraraje is BJP candidate for Assembly election.
