New Delhi, May 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has significantly reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy. This decision aligns with his appeal for energy conservation.
To lower fuel consumption, PM Modi has cut down the number of vehicles in his official convoy while maintaining all essential security measures under the SPG protocol.
A recently surfaced video shows PM Modi’s convoy appearing notably smaller, consisting of only a few vehicles.
Sources indicate that during a recent visit to Assam for Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s oath-taking ceremony and the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav in Gujarat, the Prime Minister’s convoy was also considerably smaller than usual.
The SPG has begun implementing the Prime Minister’s directives, reducing the number of vehicles while ensuring that necessary security arrangements remain intact.
This move is seen as a message that the government is also taking steps towards fuel conservation and reducing expenses. It may encourage other ministers and leaders to adopt similar measures.
Additionally, Union Minister Jitendra Singh was seen traveling in a single vehicle, as evidenced by a video where no accompanying security or pilot vehicle was present.
Notably, the Prime Minister has urged citizens to reduce fuel consumption and to utilize public transport options such as metro services, carpooling, and electric vehicles. He also emphasized prioritizing domestic travel over foreign trips and purchasing gold.
According to sources, the Prime Minister has also directed the inclusion of electric vehicles in his convoy.
