PM Modi Expresses Grief Over the Passing of Former Uttarakhand CM Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri

New Delhi, May 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow on Tuesday over the passing of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri. Along with his condolences, PM Modi shared an old photograph of himself with Khanduri.

On the social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Major General (Retired) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He made invaluable contributions from the armed forces to the political arena, and he will always be remembered for it.”

He added, “Khanduri was dedicated to the development of Uttarakhand, which was evident during his tenure as Chief Minister. His work as a Union Minister was also inspiring to many. He made relentless efforts to improve connectivity across the nation. My condolences are with his family and supporters during this time of grief.”

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed his sorrow on X, stating, “I received the sad news of the passing of Major General (Retired) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. His entire life was dedicated to the nation, society, and public service. My condolences are with the bereaved family. I pray that God grants the departed soul a place at His feet and gives strength to the grieving family and supporters.”

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remarked, “The news of the demise of Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri (Retired), former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, is extremely sad. His personality symbolized national service, discipline, and good governance, setting high ideals from the military to public life. May God grant peace to the departed soul and provide solace to the family during this difficult time.”

BJP MP Anil Baluni from Pauri Garhwal shared on X, “Today, I received the sad news of the passing of former Chief Minister, former Union Minister, and Major General (Retired) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri. His demise is an irreplaceable loss for Uttarakhand and the nation. He dedicated his entire life to national service, good governance, honest politics, and the development of Uttarakhand.
