Kolkata, April 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during the Vijay Sankalp Sabha held in Bongawan, West Bengal. He stated that the TMC’s ruthlessness has severely harmed Bengal’s identity, encapsulated in the phrases “Maa, Mati, and Manush” (Mother, Soil, and People).
Modi remarked, “Fifteen years ago, the TMC came to power with the slogan of ‘Maa-Mati-Manush,’ but today, those words do not even cross their lips. If they mention them, their sins will be exposed. The TMC’s cruelty has made mothers weep, handed over the soil to syndicates and infiltrators, and forced people to migrate.”
He emphasized that Bengal has immense potential and can once again become the leading state in the country. Remembering Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, he quoted, “Netaji said, ‘Give me blood, and I will give you freedom.’ Today, Bengal needs your vote. Give us your vote, and we will free you from the TMC.”
Referring to the first phase of voting, Modi claimed that the public has shattered TMC’s arrogance, and a significant victory for the BJP is assured in the second phase.
The Prime Minister made serious allegations against the TMC government regarding women’s safety. He stated, “Our sisters and daughters are the biggest victims of TMC’s jungle raj. In Sandeshkhali, injustice was done to our sisters, while the government supported the goons. Daughters are going missing, and the government remains asleep.”
Modi urged the public to never forget these incidents, promising strict action against the culprits once the BJP forms the government after May 4.
During the rally, he also outlined several promises for women. He stated that under a BJP government, women would receive free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh. Medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras would be offered at discounts of up to 80%. Free screenings and vaccinations for breast and cervical cancer will be provided. Additionally, financial assistance of ₹21,000 during pregnancy and ₹50,000 for daughters’ graduation will be available.
He declared, “The BJP government will take full responsibility for the education and health of daughters.” Furthermore, Modi promised to deposit ₹36,000 annually directly into women’s accounts, improve salaries for Anganwadi and women health workers, and ensure 33% reservation for daughters in government jobs.
On farmers’ issues, Modi highlighted that the central government has doubled the minimum support price (MSP) for jute and tripled purchases from jute farmers. He mentioned that jute packaging is now mandatory for wheat and rice, and a ban on single-use plastics has been implemented to boost the jute industry. He accused the TMC syndicate of obstructing the proper functioning of jute mills.
The Prime Minister also discussed various schemes for the poor and common people, stating that the BJP government provides free rations, saving families between ₹7,000 and ₹10,000 annually. Women without permanent housing will receive assistance of ₹1.5 lakh.
Modi further claimed that the TMC government has forced people to drink arsenic-laden water, while the BJP government will ensure clean water reaches every household. Additionally, financial aid of approximately ₹80,000 will be provided for installing solar panels on rooftops.
