PM Modi and Amit Shah to Lead BJP Campaign in West Bengal Elections

Kolkata, April 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its list of key campaigners for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, which includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to the official list, BJP National President Nitin Gadkari, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several other senior leaders will also participate in the campaign. Notable figures such as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, JP Nadda, and Dharmendra Pradhan are among those slated to rally in the state.

Other prominent names on the list include Mithun Chakraborty, Leander Paes, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, and Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Ashwini Vaishnav. BJP leaders Smriti Irani, Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Thakur, Annapurna Devi, Arjun Munda, Babulal Marandi, Samrat Chaudhary, Manoj Tiwari, Bhupendra Yadav, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Mangal Pandey, and Amit Malviya are also included.

State leaders such as Samik Bhattacharya, Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Shantanu Thakur, and Raju Bista are part of the campaign team as well.

This announcement coincided with Prime Minister Modi’s election rally in Cooch Behar district, marking his first campaign event since the announcement of voting dates on March 15.

During the rally, PM Modi criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, highlighting a recent incident in Malda district where seven judicial officers were taken hostage by criminals.

He stated that the situation in West Bengal is so alarming that even the Supreme Court has raised concerns about the state’s law and order.

PM Modi emphasized that no constitutional body in West Bengal is safe from attacks, promising that all crimes will be addressed after the elections. He accused the Trinamool Congress of harboring illegal immigrants, asserting that the BJP is determined to stop them.
