PM greets Parsis on Navroz

New Delhi, March 21 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders greeted the Parsi comm ty on the occasion of Parsi New Year’s Navroz on Monday. The Prime Minister said: “We mark Navroz with a prayer that the coming year brings with it joy and outstanding health in everyone’s lives. May all aspirations be fulfilled and may there be prosperity all around. Navroz Mubarak!” Home Minister Amit Shah said: “May this Parsi New Year bring in good fortune and an abundance of happiness in everyone’s life. Navroz Mubarak!” on Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani tweeted: “Navroz Mubarak! Prayers that the New Year brings health, happiness and prosperity for all.” Congress leader Rahul Gandh said: “My best wishes on the occasion of Navroz! Peace and prosperity for all.” The Parsi New Year is observed on the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Zoroastrian calendar. It is also known as Navroz, which is derived from the Persian words Nav and Roz, which indicate a ‘new day’. JA MR
