New Delhi, February 26: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a heartfelt appeal to his supporters on Thursday, urging them to plant a tree on his birthday and send him a photo to make the day meaningful.

In a video posted on X, Chouhan addressed his dear brothers, sisters, and nieces and nephews, emphasizing the importance of living for a noble cause. “Environmental conservation has been a sacred purpose in my life, and that’s why I plant a tree every day,” he stated. His birthday falls on March 5, and he expressed gratitude for the love and affection shown by his supporters during celebrations.

Chouhan noted that political workers often put up hoardings, and many friends bring shawls, fruits, and mementos. However, this year, he urged everyone to make his birthday purposeful. “On my birthday, please refrain from flowers, shawls, fruits, mementos, or hoardings. Just plant a tree and upload its photo or send it to me. My birthday will be meaningful,” he said.

He highlighted that planting a tree is the greatest service one can offer to the world. Trees are essential for human life, provide homes and food for insects and birds, and offer shade and sustenance for animals. “Trees adorn the earth and are vital for life. That’s why I plant trees. I encourage you to plant one not just on my birthday but on your own as well. I have been planting a tree every day for the past five years,” he added.

Regarding the recent AI Summit, he commented on the Youth Congress’s protest, stating, “As the Minister of Agriculture and a farmer, I assure you that the agricultural agreements made under PM Modi’s guidance are in the best interest of Indian farmers. Some people are trying to spread misunderstandings and lie daily. The Congress workers’ actions at the AI Summit were an insult to Bharat Mata.”
