New Delhi, October 14 (Daily Kiran): The Google Pixel 10 series, which was expected to showcase the best of Google’s hardware and software integration, is facing major backlash after its latest October software update triggered widespread app crashes. Instead of resolving known display issues, the update has reportedly caused multiple apps to freeze or crash within seconds of launching.

According to user reports, the issue appears most severe on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL, though even base model users have been affected. Many have taken to Reddit and other online forums to complain that even restarting the phone fails to stop the crashes, leaving basic phone functions nearly unusable.
The October update was originally meant to fix a display glitch that occasionally caused the screen to freeze. However, soon after installation, users began noticing random app crashes, making day-to-day usage increasingly difficult.
Temporary Workarounds Shared by Users
With no official fix from Google yet, the Pixel community has been experimenting with temporary solutions. Some users reported partial success after uninstalling the October updates for Google Play Services and the Play Store, which appeared to stop the crashes but also logged them out of their Google accounts.
Others have suggested clearing the cache of Google Play Services via Settings → Apps → Google Play Services → Storage → Clear Cache. While not a guaranteed solution, it has reportedly helped some users restore limited stability.
Google Yet to Respond
As of now, Google has not issued an official statement or patch to address the issue. Pixel 10 owners who haven’t yet installed the October update are being advised to delay the installation until a stable fix becomes available.
The timing is particularly problematic for Google, as the Pixel 10 series is still new in the market. The company’s flagship devices have long been praised for their clean, stable Android experience—but the current wave of app crashes threatens to dent that reputation if a swift fix isn’t rolled out soon.
