New Delhi, May 8: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has officially refuted claims made by propaganda accounts linked to Pakistan, which falsely allege that India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that India lost four Rafale fighter jets during a conflict with Pakistan.
A misleading video has been circulating, making these unsubstantiated claims. The PIB clarified that this information is entirely false and misleading.
Through its official social media account on X, the PIB stated, “Pakistani propaganda accounts are spreading a video of MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, claiming that India lost four Rafale jets during the conflict with Pakistan. The video also falsely asserts that India had no option but to stop the flow of water to Pakistan.”
This disinformation campaign is occurring at a time when the world is marking the one-year anniversary of India’s successful ‘Operation Sindoor.’
On May 7, as India commemorated the anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ the country reiterated its firm stance on terrorism with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that India has once again made it clear that its approach to combating terrorism is resolute and uncompromising.
In a post on the social media platform X, Jaishankar stated, “A year ago, ‘Operation Sindoor’ demonstrated the nation’s resolve to defend itself against cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. India has ensured accountability for terrorist activities through decisive actions, emphasizing that such serious threats will be effectively countered for peace and security. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India stands firm and resolute in delivering a message of ‘zero tolerance’ towards terrorism.”
