PBKS look to end SRH’s winning streak

Mumbai, April 16 : The in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be looking to stop revitalised Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) winning streak, when the two teams lock horns in an Indian Premier League match on Sunday here at the DY Patil Stadium. PBKS and SRH have six points each. While Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab are placed fourth in the points table, the Kane Williamson-led Hyderabad are at seventh spot in the standings. Punjab have had alternative wins and losses, and will be aiming to strengthen their position in the tournament. On the other hand, Hyderabad have won three successive games after losing first two games. They would not want to lose their momentum, which PBKS will be bent on breaking. Punjab have a strong batting line-up with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow in top order, and Liam Livingstone and Odean Smith in the middle-order. Not relying on a single player has been the team’s greatest strength. In their last outing, while captain Mayank’s 52 earned him the Player of the Match award, Dhawan contributed with a well-made 70. Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan added 46 runs that helped PBKS to pull off a 12-run win against Mumbai Indians (MI). Bowling wise, Punjab have a strong t with the presence of pace trio Kagiso Rabada, Odean Smith, and Vaibhav Arora. Smith’s four-wicket haul and a good last over helped the team defend their total against MI. Rahul Chahar, who has been giving the team important breakthroughs, will be the player to lookout for. For SRH, the duo of Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram are the vital cog in their batting t. Tripathi has been in good form, scoring 171 runs so far in the 2022 IPL. The opening pair of Williamson and Abhishek Sharma, both who got SRH campaign back on track with their batting prowess, have to regain their form when they face Punjab, as the they failed to contribute in their last game. In the bowling t, pacers T Natarajan and Marco Jansen can trouble the Punjab batters.
