Patna, March 5: Pappu Yadav, a Congress leader and MP from Purnia, has responded to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s expressed desire to become a member of the Rajya Sabha. He urged leaders Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, and Upendra Kushwaha to prevent Bihar from becoming a stronghold for the BJP.
In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav stated, “Manjhi Ji, Chirag Ji, Lalu Ji, and Upendra Ji, do not let Bihar become a pasture for the BJP. Let’s unanimously support Nishant Kumar without conditions and make him the Chief Minister, closing the door on the BJP in Bihar.”
He further added, “Future politics will be shaped by our unity. You will become immortal in history and a symbol of Bihari pride.”
Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had publicly stated his ambition to join the Rajya Sabha, putting an end to ongoing speculation. He clarified on Thursday that he wishes to become a member of the Rajya Sabha and mentioned that he will continue to provide guidance to the new Bihar government.
In his post on X, Kumar expressed, “Since the beginning of my parliamentary life, I have had a desire to be a member of both houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly as well as both houses of Parliament. In this context, I wish to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming elections.”
Kumar assured, “I want to sincerely assure you that my relationship with you will remain intact in the future, and I will continue to work together to build a developed Bihar. The new government will have my full support and guidance.”
Following Kumar’s announcement, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary congratulated him. Chaudhary wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for being declared the JD(U) candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections-2026. Your visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to good governance, and continuous efforts for Bihar’s overall development inspire us all. I believe your experience and leadership will further enhance the dignity of the Rajya Sabha.”
