New Delhi, March 6: In response to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to move to the Rajya Sabha, independent MP and Congress leader Pappu Yadav has suggested that Nishant Kumar should be appointed to lead the state. Yadav emphasized that there is no better face for the Janata Dal (United) than Nishant to ensure its stability.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav questioned the urgency behind Nitish Kumar’s decision. He stated, “The workers have always stood by Nitish Kumar. The people of Bihar have supported him, so why the betrayal now?”
Yadav further inquired, “What was the rush for Nitish Kumar? On Holi, people express love and even make friends out of enemies. What kind of India-Pakistan war was happening that he had to make this decision during Holi? Nitish Kumar was unwell before; why was he made Chief Minister then? Was this deal made earlier?”
He warned that the public might soon question Nitish Kumar, asking, “We gave you the mandate and made you the groom; how could you hand it over to someone else? I urge Nitish Kumar to reconsider transferring this mandate when the people chose him.”
Yadav asserted that it was not the public or the workers who betrayed Nitish Kumar, but rather the leaders who deceived the people and workers. He stated that the real threat was within the JDU itself. During his remarks, Yadav reiterated, “If JDU wants to remain secure, they should appoint Nishant or another capable leader as Chief Minister.”
He concluded by saying that while the NDA received public support under Nitish Kumar’s name, the BJP must not betray the people. “I believe Nishant should become Chief Minister. This will preserve Nitish Kumar’s image with the public mandate and maintain the BJP’s reputation by not deceiving its allies,” he added.
