New Delhi, May 11: The facade of Pakistan’s false propaganda has been unveiled once again. The government has issued an alert regarding a fake video circulating on Pakistani social media. Accounts linked to Pakistan have been promoting claims that the Indian Navy stated Pakistan targeted Indian aircraft and air force bases. A purported video featuring Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod of the Indian Navy has been shared by these accounts.
In this video, it is falsely claimed that during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ Pakistan attacked Indian aircraft and air force installations. The government’s fact-check unit clarified that this video was entirely created using artificial intelligence technology. Investigations revealed it to be a ‘deepfake video.’ The intent behind this misinformation is to mislead the public and spread false narratives.
According to the fact-check unit, Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod did not make any such statement. The viral video has been manipulated to alter his face and voice, creating a counterfeit video. Authorities have urged the public not to trust such misleading videos circulating on social media and to refrain from sharing them without verification. The government has warned that modern technology is being used to create fake videos and audio, aimed at sowing confusion and distrust within the country. Only information from official sources should be considered reliable in such cases.
The fact-check unit also mentioned that the original, unedited version of the video is available. In this authentic video, no such claims are made. People are encouraged to report any suspicious content immediately for swift action. If anyone encounters misleading or dubious material on social media, they can report it to the government’s fact-check unit. A helpline number, 8799711259, and an email address have been provided for this purpose.
It is noteworthy that in the original video, Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod clearly states that on the night of May 6-7 last year, Navy personnel participated in precision strikes against terrorist infrastructures under Operation Sindoor, in collaboration with the Indian Army and Air Force. This strike further strengthened the spirit of joint operations among the three armed forces. As the operation progressed, the Indian Navy’s forward deployment forced Pakistan’s naval and air units into a defensive posture, primarily limiting their operations to ports or close to their coast.
He explained that the Indian Navy rapidly achieved a state of combat readiness. The carrier battle group and surface action group, equipped with indigenous frontline warships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces, were deployed in an offensive posture in the northern Arabian Sea.
Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod emphasized that Operation Sindoor clearly demonstrated the strategic vision of our national leadership. Precise and unambiguous directives were issued, providing the necessary operational freedom. As a result, the Indian defense forces were able to carry out decisive military actions.
