Washington, May 1: A Pakistani national has been revealed to have operated an international human trafficking network, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. He facilitated the illegal entry of individuals into the United States through fake film production companies.
Court documents indicate that 49-year-old Abbas Ali Haider, a resident of Sialkot, admitted to running a network for several years that transported Pakistani individuals to the U.S.-Mexico border via Latin America.
Prosecutors stated that Haider established two fictitious companies, “Diamond TV World Productions” and “Multimedia Advertising Limited.” Through these entities, he secured business travel visas for individuals.
Between September 2019 and September 2023, he provided visas for people traveling to Ecuador, Cuba, and Colombia. These individuals posed as employees working on film projects, but their actual goal was to reach the United States.
Authorities reported that once in Latin America, they were transported to the southern U.S. border, where they illegally entered California, Texas, and Arizona. Haider charged approximately $40,000 per person for this journey.
In July 2025, after being brought to the U.S. from Mexico, Haider pleaded guilty to conspiracy to illegally transport individuals into the country for profit.
His sentencing is scheduled for July 30, where he could face a minimum of three years and a maximum of ten years in prison. The final sentence will be determined by a federal court judge, considering U.S. law and other relevant factors.
This case was reported by officials from the Justice Department, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona, and Homeland Security Investigations. Multiple U.S. agencies collaborated in the investigation, including Border Patrol, the FBI, Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Mexican agencies also assisted in the arrest and extradition process.
