Pakistan opposition to again table no-confidence motion

Islamabad, March 28 : The opposition in Pakistan’s National Assembly would once again table the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan during the session of lower house of Parliament on Monday. The National Assembly would be meeting for the first time after it was adjourned on March 25 when the no-confidence motion was to take place. The previous session was wrapped up almost immediately after it started with no discussion on the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. The opposition had submitted a no-confidence resolution in the National Assembly Secretariat on March 8. According to Geo TV, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif is expected to table the motion against Imran Khan. The NA Secretariat said the no-confidence resolution would be one of the agendas after the question hour in 27-point order on Monday. “This House is of the view that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has lost the confidence of the majority of the members of the National Assembly of Pakistan, therefore, he should cease to hold office,” the resolution bearing signatures of 152 opposition members said. Geo TV quoted sources as saying that NA Speaker Asad Qaiser is expected to allow voting on the resolution on April 4 after the resolution is moved. During the session, bill for a separate South Punjab province will also be introduced by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. RNJ
