New Delhi, March 20 : Multiple explosions were heard near Sialkot military base in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Sunday in the midst of a major political crisis in the country. Several residents in the area shared videos of the explosions claiming that the amm tion storage of the Pakistan Army had caught fire. Thick columns of smoke emanating from the area could be seen in the videos shared on social media platforms. A closer look at the videos also indicate sound of firing from small arms in the area. The incident reportedly took place early in the morning, however, no official word had been issued till noon on the incident either by the Pakistan Army or by the local administration. The silence of the Pakistani establishment hours after the incident is in question since armies don’t have problems in acknowledging accidental amm tion fire cases in depots.
