Lucknow, March 24 : After being elected as the leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party on Thursday caretaker Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while expressing gratitude towards the central leadership and MLAs said that being public representative the role of newly elected MLAs is that of a servant and they should not commit mistake of considering themselves as the master. Yogi, who will be sworn in as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive term, also expressed gratitude towards the MLAs of BJP allies A a Dal (Sonelal) and Nishad Party. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah Uttar Pradesh is about to take a next step towards development and good governance,” he said. It may be noted the meeting was held in the presence of on Home Minister Amit Shah, who has been appointed as the central observer for UP and co-observer and former Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das. Yogi said, “The Prime Minister has said that when we come into power then we should not commit mistakes on becoming the master. Our role should be that of a servant. The party has given a system and we will take forward our programmes accordingly. Our target should be to move ahead with full commitment and honesty.” He said that five years back when Shah was the BJP president then he put faith in him and gave the responsibility to take UP forward. “At that time I had no experience. We all were ignorant at that time. The only experience I had was to work as an MP. I was not even an MLA at that time. In such a situation when the responsibility of laying the foundation of good governance in a state like UP was given, a lot was needed to learn and understand,” he said. Yogi said that UP is the state of nature and God and everything is possible here. “We are continuously getting the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the most popular leader of the world,” he said. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi due to double engine government, the UP government started work as per his intentions and during the five year period, despite the fact there was a pandemic like corona, accountability towards the people could be completed. “In return the people rejected caste, religion and bad governance and gave us the responsibility of taking good governance and development works forward by giving a thumping majority,” he said. Expressing gratitude towards the BJP leadership for giving him the command of the state government again, Yogi said, “We will fulfill our duties with full dedication towards the responsibility given to me,” he said. He appealed to the MLAs that team work would be required to fulfill the aspirations of the people, which they have with the party. AB GNK 2048
