Opposition Leaders Criticize Government for Lack of Information on Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 7: On the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’, opposition leaders have criticized the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for not providing adequate information about the military operation. However, they praised India’s military capabilities.

Speaking to reporters, Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy stated, “We do not have sufficient information about Operation Sindoor. I am an MP, yet I have not been informed about the details of the operation.”

He further noted that while the government claims the operation lasted 88 hours and destroyed several enemy positions, there remains a significant mystery regarding the actual achievements.

Roy expressed condolences for the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Sindoor.

Arbind Das, the head of the media, communication, and publicity department of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, emphasized that India’s military strength is far superior to that of Pakistan. However, he reiterated that opposition leaders have been kept in the dark about the military operation.

He remarked, “Regarding Operation Sindoor, the situation remains unclear. In most cases, these people (the central government) are accustomed to keeping the public in the dark. Therefore, a clear picture should have emerged, as we are still in the dark.”

Despite this, he expressed confidence that India must have subdued the significantly weaker Pakistan.

Congress MP Amar Singh criticized the NDA government, led by the BJP, for politicizing the operation. He stated, “The army always performs well. We support the Indian Armed Forces. However, the BJP should not have politicized Operation Sindoor. This is an achievement of the armed forces; what does the BJP have to do with it?”

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah praised Operation Sindoor, calling it a ‘historic mission’ that will remind the country’s enemies of the Indian Armed Forces’ unmatched striking capability.
