New Delhi, February 11: Opposition members are demanding discussions in the parliament regarding the book by former Army Chief General MM Naravane. On Wednesday, opposition MPs accused the BJP of deceiving the public.
Congress MP K.C. Venugopal stated, “I don’t understand how afraid they are of this issue. Why are they scared? We are not afraid. We are clear. Everything we have said inside and outside the house is true, and we stand by it. The BJP should tell the truth to the people of the country.”
He questioned what is in the book that people are trying to hide, asserting that the day is not far when the public will respond to this deception.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore remarked, “This is all nonsense from the BJP. Naravane shared information on social media on December 15, 2023. What did it say? It was two or three years ago. The message was, ‘You can buy the book now. You can pre-order it.’ This happened three years ago. Now, Naravane is denying that he wrote the book.”
He further added that BJP members are trying to hide the truth through intimidation, but this will not last much longer. The public is aware of their reality, and a response will soon follow.
SP MP Afzal Ansari commented, “The slogans used during the British Raj to unite the country are now being used by those in power to divide it. This is spreading misinformation in the country, which could deteriorate the national atmosphere.”
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated, “I reiterate that reading General Naravane’s book has been labeled as anti-national. The Leader of the Opposition was not allowed to speak, and an FIR was filed. Everyone knows the truth, and perhaps the former Army Chief has realized that just as the opposition is silenced using the ED and CBI, a message is being sent to all Army Chiefs that they cannot discuss decisions made during our tenure.”
