Mumbai, March 26: OPPO Find X9 Pro users can now install Android 17 Beta 2. OPPO has released the latest developer build based on Google’s Android 17 Beta 2, along with the newest Google Mobile Services package.
This rollout is exclusive to the Find X9 Pro, with no other OPPO devices supported at this time.
OPPO emphasizes that this build is intended for developers and advanced users. It is not a stable version and is not recommended for everyday use. Users unfamiliar with flashing ROMs or beta software should wait for the stable update.
Installing Android 17 Beta 2 will erase all data on the device, including apps, photos, music, and documents. OPPO advises users to back up everything before proceeding. The backup can be done through Settings, under Additional settings, then Back up and migrate, followed by Local backup. The backup file will be saved in the device storage under the ColorOS backup folder. Users must transfer this backup to another device, as it will be deleted during installation if left on the phone.
There are several known issues in this beta version. OPPO’s interconnection features and touch response may freeze or fail in some instances. System apps and settings may exhibit display issues or visual bugs. Users might also experience screen flickering, app crashes, or unresponsive apps. Support for third-party apps is limited, and some may not function properly.
Since this build incorporates Google Mobile Services, certain OPPO apps that overlap with Google apps may not be accessible after installation.
OPPO also cautions that the installation process is not straightforward. There is a genuine risk of bricking the device if something goes awry. Users should only proceed if they fully understand the installation steps.
