Odishas Deputy CM Praises Student Union Elections as Major Achievement

Odishas Deputy CM Parvati Parida celebrates student union election victories, highlighting youth support for the nation-first ideology.

Bhubaneswar, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Parvati Parida, recently congratulated new student leaders and their supporters for their victories in college elections across the state. She emphasized the participation of various student organizations, including the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), and noted that the youth of Odisha have rallied behind the nation-first ideology.

During her remarks, Parida criticized former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, accusing his government of failing to conduct student union elections in colleges for eight years. She asserted that these elections have provided a platform for emerging student leaders.

Parida expressed her congratulations to all victorious student leaders and their supporters, highlighting the importance of democratic participation among students. She pointed out that the success of the ABVP indicates that the youth are aligning with the nation-first ideology. She also acknowledged the involvement of other student organizations in the elections.

Reflecting on the previous government, Parida questioned why elections were not held during those eight years if there was no fear of the youth. She reiterated her party’s commitment to holding college elections, a promise they fulfilled after coming to power. “The public favors those who keep their promises,” she stated, emphasizing that her government has delivered on its commitments.

In a lighter note, she extended birthday wishes to Naveen Patnaik, wishing him good health and expressing hopes that he continues to serve his party. Parida noted that the people of Odisha are also praying for his well-being but expressed concern that he should not mislead the public at his age.
