New Delhi, May 9: In an exciting match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26, Odisha FC secured a 2-1 victory against Sporting Club Delhi (SC Delhi) on Friday. The match took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Odisha FC started the game aggressively, scoring two goals in the opening minutes. The first goal came from Suhair Vadakkepedika in the fourth minute, who headed the ball into the net after receiving a brilliant cross from Sanathoi Singh Hekrujam.

In the 13th minute, Lalrinfela (Mafela) doubled the lead for Odisha FC with a powerful shot, assisted by Lalthathanga Kholhring. SC Delhi’s goalkeeper, Nora Fernandes, was unable to stop the shot.

Trailing by two goals, SC Delhi attempted a comeback. They created several opportunities in the first half, but Odisha’s defense held strong. Matija Babovic and Lamgoulen Gao tried to score but were unsuccessful. By halftime, Odisha FC led 2-0.

In the 58th minute, Mohammad Aimen created a fantastic chance, but Odisha’s goalkeeper Anuj Kumar made an excellent save. The match saw increasing tension, with players from both teams receiving yellow cards. A significant moment occurred in the 70th minute when Lalthathanga Kholhring committed a handball while clearing the ball, resulting in a penalty for SC Delhi. Matija Babovic converted the penalty in the 74th minute, narrowing the score to 2-1.

SC Delhi pressed hard for an equalizer, but Odisha FC’s defense remained resolute. Odisha also had a chance to score a third goal, but substitute Karthik Hantal missed an easy opportunity. In the final minutes, SC Delhi gave their all, with Julio Rivas and Saurav making several attempts, but Odisha FC maintained their composure. Despite seven minutes of added time, SC Delhi could not find the net, and Odisha secured the win.

With this victory, Odisha FC climbed to the 11th position in the points table, now having 10 points from 11 matches. SC Delhi remains in 10th place with the same points but has a better goal difference.
