Bhubaneswar, May 6 : Odisha Assembly has started its YouTube channel, Speaker Surya Narayan Patro said on Sunday, announcing that people can watch the channel after a couple of days. The channel was launched on the birth anniversary of legendary leader and former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on Saturday, Patro told mediapersons here. In addition to all proceedings of the House, including Question Hour, business, and adjournment motions, the channel will apprise people about the legislative practices and procedures, tours of various House Committees to different places to oversee the developmental work, committee meetings, implementation of various developmental works going on in the state and interview of senior lawmakers. Patro said very soon Vidhan Sabha Tv will be launched and a monthly magazine of the Assembly christened ”Vidhan Sabha Samachar” will be published. He said a television studio will be constructed in the premises of the Assembly and all equipment required for making the YouTube and television channels operational would be procured soon. The Speaker said a former retired state Administrative Officer has been appointed as the Director for the purpose. The budget session of the state Assembly would commence before the end of the current month. He said the date for the commencement of the session would be announced after the governor’s approval.
