Nubia has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Nubia Z80 Ultra, which will debut in China on October 22. The announcement follows the confirmation of the Red Magic 11 Pro series, set to launch on October 17. The Z80 Ultra is positioned as a photography-centric flagship, continuing Nubia’s tradition of innovation in design and imaging.

Sleek Design and Color Variants
The Nubia Z80 Ultra will offer a true full-screen experience, featuring an under-display front camera that eliminates any notch or punch-hole, resulting in an immersive viewing experience. The device sports ultra-thin bezels and a refined design compared to last year’s Z70 Ultra.
It will be available in three colors — Phantom Black, Glacial White, and a premium Starry Collector’s Edition.
Key Specifications (Expected)
A Nubia smartphone with model number NX741J, recently spotted on Geekbench, is believed to be the upcoming Z80 Ultra. The listing revealed a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and Android 16 out of the box, pointing toward flagship-level performance.
For photography, the Z80 Ultra is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP 35mm main lens, a 1/1.55-inch ultra-wide sensor (f/1.8, 1μm pixels), and a periscope telephoto lens. The upgraded ultra-wide sensor aims to deliver improved clarity and better distortion control at the edges.
The phone is also rumored to include a 144Hz flat AMOLED display with an under-display front camera for a seamless look. Powering the device will be a 7,100mAh battery with 90W fast charging support, and certification details hint at a 94.5W charger included in the box.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is expected to set new benchmarks in both performance and mobile photography when it arrives later this month.
