NTPC rises as its arm incorporates new company in joint venture with IOC

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 175.65, up by 1.25 points or 0.72% from its previous closing of Rs. 174.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 176.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 176.20 and Rs. 175.25 respectively. So far 41709 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 182.80 on 01-Nov-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 135.00 on 24-Jun-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 178.00 and Rs. 171.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 170273.46 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.10%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.21% and 2.70% respectively.

NTPC’s wholly owned subsidiary — NTPC Green Energy has incorporated a new company, in 50:50 joint venture with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), in the name of ‘Indianoil NTPC Green Energy’. The incorporation date of joint venture company is June 02, 2023. ‘Indianoil NTPC Green Energy’ will develop Renewable Energy based power projects (viz. Solar PV, Wind, any other RE, Energy Storage or any combination of same), to supply 650 MW or more renewable power on round the clock basis, to cater to the requirement of Indian Oil Corporation.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
