Nityanand Rai Participates in Self-Enumeration for 2027 Census

New Delhi, April 4: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai participated in the self-enumeration process for the 2027 Census at his official residence in Delhi on Saturday. During the event, he urged citizens to fill out their self-enumeration forms.

In a post on the social media platform X, Nityanand Rai stated, “Under the first phase of the 2027 Census, the Housing Census, I filled out my self-enumeration form today at my official residence in Delhi. This process will further accelerate India’s development under the inspiring leadership of our esteemed Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and will play a crucial role in effectively delivering government schemes to every citizen.”

He added that, under the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, the census is being conducted digitally for the first time, making it simpler and more efficient.

Encouraging the public, he wrote, “You can also self-enumerate according to your area by visiting the official portal. Enumerators will soon visit your homes. I request you to provide the necessary information and contribute significantly to this national duty.”

Earlier, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah completed their own enumeration. On Friday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also participated in the enumeration process.

The 2027 Census is set to be India’s first fully digital census, moving away from the traditional paper-based system that has been in place for over 150 years. This process is being conducted in two phases under the Census Act of 1948.

The first phase, known as House Listing and Housing Census (HLHC), focuses on collecting data related to housing conditions, household amenities, and properties. Citizens will need to answer 33 notified questions during this phase.
